Terms of Use

01 The service

GrantPanel is operated by GrantPanel LLC, a Texas limited liability company. In these terms, “GrantPanel,” “we” and “us” mean GrantPanel LLC, and these terms are an agreement between you and GrantPanel LLC.

GrantPanel provides automated mock peer review of grant proposals: compliance and solicitation-alignment checks, a reference audit, a literature search, independent written reviews, a recorded deliberation, a chaired consensus, and suggested revisions. The reviews are written by AI models, not by people. GrantPanel is not a funding agency, a legal advisor, a sponsor representative, or a guarantee of submission compliance, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any funding agency.

02 Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use GrantPanel. You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in secure, and use the service only for materials you are authorized to submit. You are responsible for activity under your account, and you agree to tell us promptly at hello@grantpanel.ai if you suspect someone else has used it. If you use GrantPanel on behalf of an institution, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.

03 Purchases and runs

Reviews are purchased per proposal at the prices on the Pricing page, with lower per-proposal prices for larger purchases. Prices are in US dollars, before tax, and are charged through Stripe when you check out. Where sales tax applies, Stripe calculates it from your billing address and adds it at checkout, and the invoice shows it. There is no subscription.

One proposal includes up to three runs: the initial review and two revision reviews. A purchased proposal does not expire while unused. Your first run on it opens a 60-day window, and the remaining runs can be used at any point inside that window. A run that fails before delivering its report is not counted and is returned to you automatically.

04 Refunds

Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. In short: an unused proposal is refundable within 30 days of purchase, a failed run is never charged, and a report that fell short is reviewed on request. Proposals granted free of charge, such as through an invite code, carry no refund. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

05 Your materials and your reports

You keep ownership of everything you submit and of the reports generated for you. You give GrantPanel a limited permission to process your submitted files to produce the review you asked for, including sending them to the AI model providers listed on the Subprocessors page, and to store your reports in your account so you can read, export, and revise against them.

Uploaded files are deleted on the schedule in the Privacy Policy. Reports stay in your account until you delete them. Deleting a review erases its report and files; a record that the run took place, with the credit it used and its processing cost, is kept with your billing history. We do not use your materials or reports to train AI models, and neither do our providers.

06 AI-generated output

Reports are produced by AI models and may be incomplete or wrong, including in what they say a solicitation requires, what a cited work contains, or how a panel would react. You are responsible for checking anything you rely on and for everything you submit to a funder. Do not present a report as an agency determination, an official compliance certification, or the work of human reviewers.

07 Acceptable use

Your use must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. In particular, do not submit material you are not authorized to share, do not upload sensitive data such as identifiable human-subject records, and do not probe, overload, or resell the service without a written agreement.

08 Email

We send email that belongs to your account: sign-in codes, receipts, notices that a report is ready or a run failed, and reminders before a proposal's window closes. You can turn off report notifications in your account settings. We occasionally send product announcements; each one carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect account email.

09 Suspension and termination

You may stop using GrantPanel and ask us to close your account at any time by writing to hello@grantpanel.ai. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that creates risk for other users or our providers, or where the law requires it; where circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you a chance to respond. A suspended account cannot start new runs. If a card payment is disputed with your bank, the unused proposals from that purchase are held and the account is paused until the dispute is resolved; if it is resolved in our favour, both are restored. If we close your account without cause, we refund any unused proposals. Sections on your materials, AI output, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and governing law survive termination.

10 No outcome warranty

GrantPanel does not predict or promise scores, reviewer reactions, compliance determinations, or funding outcomes. A real panel turns on who is assigned your proposal, what else is in the pile, and how the discussion goes that day.

11 Security

We protect the service with the measures described on the Security page and keep them current. No online service can be made completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties will never defeat those measures. To the extent the law permits, GrantPanel is not responsible for unauthorized access to your account or materials that results from your sign-in being compromised, or from criminal acts of third parties that reasonable security measures would not have prevented. This does not reduce our duty to take reasonable security measures, or to notify you of a breach as the Privacy Policy describes.

12 Events beyond our control

GrantPanel is not liable for a delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages at our hosting, AI model, or payment providers, cyberattacks and denial-of-service attacks, power or network failures, natural disasters, and government action. A run that fails for one of these reasons is returned to you, as any failed run is.

13 Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrantPanel disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrantPanel is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost funding, lost profits, or lost data, arising from your use of the service. GrantPanel's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid GrantPanel in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent the law permits.

15 Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify GrantPanel against third-party claims arising from material you submitted without the right to do so, from your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or from how you used a report, except to the extent a claim is caused by GrantPanel's own breach.

16 Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. Material changes are noted on this page with a new effective date and, for changes that affect purchases or your materials, emailed to account holders before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
